GIST life is not the same as living on other campuses. First of all, there is no undergraduate program in GIST. As a result, it is hard to see a group of people moving to take classes because almost all students are in their laboratory except for lunchtime. Secondly, GIST has the good conditions for country life. GIST is surrounded by mountains and there are many trees, flowers and even kitchen gardens. It is natural to watch some people cultivate their gardes. In addition, GIST students enjoy riding bicycles around the campus. They can easily lent bicycles by paying a small amount of deposit. According to a daily newspaper, about 80% of GIST studnets ride bicycles. Finally, there is a problem that convenient facilities are not close to GIST. In the case of ordinary campuses, there are various facilities such as convenience stores, stationary stores and coffee shops. On the other hand, GIST students have to go off campus to buy something because most convenient facilities are over 10 minutes' walking distance. They can use a concession stand which closes in the evening. For these reasons, living at GIST is different from living at other campuses.
